In order to be able to work correctly and reach the best possible results at an interpreting session, it is indispensable that the interpreter should receive extensive information in advance e.g. information on
- the situation and the purpose of the meeting
- the parties involved and their roles
- any documents, charts, presentations for use in the meeting etc.
- Documents that can be used to prepare terminology prior to the meeting
Ideally, the interpreter should also have translated any bilingual documents being used. Please note: the more familiar an interpreter is with the topic and the more understanding the interpreter has on the situation, the better the result.
